I'm probably after something that doesn't exist, but according to your answers I believe that taking some practive time into account, I'll be better with the MP11. For example if I try to play Moonlight sonata with hard or hard+, I find it hard to be gentle on those notes (and I'm really sensitive about this piece. I tuned the virtual technician parameters in the store, but as I wrote above about the velocity curves, this only covers up the problem, but it doesn't solve it. These things were able to give me the most options for playing wide dynamic ranges as well as holding up under the force of the big chords. Going from that to the MP11, I have the touch curve set to heavy or heavy+ for big Romantic music, and I also have the voicing set to dynamic. ![]() So this is quite an advantage, as all instruments are different from one to the next. I also unexpectedly realized that having 2 different keybeds on which to play almost daily has had positive benefits when playing on other pianos (at relatives/friends, small venues, etc.) as I have much more facility at adjusting my technique as required on other keybeds. On the other hand, rapidly ascending or descending arpeggios over several octaves require (for me) more effort to control the keystrokes on the GF and staying in even tempo since I found a tendency with these lighter keys to have the notes sort of "fall over themselves", my fingers striking the keys too hard. I would say that now I actually find it easier to play p, pp, or ppp on the MP11 than my acoustic. Now I find that I can easily go from one to the other with no problems at all. The first few days I had my MP11, I was at times working hard at trying to control the dynamics to my liking on the GF keyboard (call it "growing pain" if you want). While it is true that the GF touch is somewhat lighter than on my grand, do not underestimate the human body/mind's capacity to adapt. ![]() Pianoteq pianissimo portable#I also own an acoustic grand piano and use my MP11 mostly for silent practice, and once in a while for performing as it is a lot more portable than my grand I can perhaps understand a little what you are trying to say. I own an MP11 (for over a year now) and thought I would chime in. I'd be happy to hear everyone's advice of course! but I'd most appreciate opinions from people who played MP11 and VPC1 And if I turn the volume down or change velocity curves, then the forte range becomes narrower and more flat.ĭoes anybody else share this problem with MP11 (or other GF action instruments)? what did you do about it? So now I find it a bit difficult to be fully expressive on the pianissimo range. Pianoteq pianissimo full#The thing is, I'm afraid that since I'm used to uprights, my fingers are too strong in order to extract the full dynamic range of the MP11 (Changing velocity curves doesn't help since the key resistance doesn't change). I searched through and didn't see other threads discussing it. I naturally tend to prefer MP11 because VPC-1 takes much effort and have no built-in sounds (for fun and crazy moments!!). So I sort of decided I want either MP11 or VPC-1. NU1 - WOW!!!! (both on the action, and on the price). I prefer the GF action of MP11.ĬLP575/585 - Great instruments, but action is not good as MP11 and of course they are more expensive. would require a lot of rest for my fingers.ĬA97/67 - I actually didn't like the touch of the black keys on the grandFeel II action. VPC1 - great! but too hard in my opinion. MP11 - wonderful instrument!! it's so soft and beautiful! I'm located in Tel-Aviv and there aren't too many models around so I took a plane to MusicStore in Cologne, Germany. As a classical player which also plays other stuff for fun) I have high demands for the touch (I don't mind about the rest since I can also use pianoteq or some other software, though having on-board sounds is cool!). Hi Everyone! I've been reading here for some time and it's about time to join in! (Thanks for all the info btw!) ![]()
